Prewar Tootsietoy #05051 Diecast Aerial Defense Set in Original Box

Nice prewar Tootsietoy die-cast #05051 Aerial Defense set in a solid original box.
Includes a pair of searchlight trucks, a pair of anti-aircraft gun trucks, and a single command vehicle, along with a trio of single prop, radial-engine "Pursuit Planes" and six Marines, pilots and mechanics.
Each of the military vehicles is about 2 and 1/2 inches long, and the wingspan on the planes is about 4 inches. The 2 red Pursuit Planes have some flaking to the tops of the wings as shown by the photos. The command vehicle shows a little wear as well, but otherwise the pieces are very clean.
Only the 2 searchlight trucks came out of the insert easily. I did not want to force the other pieces out of the insert and risk damaging the insert. No breaks to the castings that I can see. Other than the flaking and wear to the 2 red planes and the command vehicle, the dice cast pieces are Ex. plus to Like New. The figures appear to be tied into the box with their original string ties. The insert has a little fraying, minor tearing and edge wear but is in Ex. shape overall. The main part of the box is square, with the bottom part having no blown corners and the lid having one taped corner. I think the other 3 corners on the lid are all original and intact, or they've been professionally redone - but I think they are original. The colors on the litho top of the lid are strong and vibrant. As shown by the photos, the lid top does have some minor skinning, edge wear and creasing. I'm not a Tootsie expert so please examine the photos carefully for originality and condition. My impression is that this set is not easy to find in nice shape, so here's your chance.

Shipping
: I will ship to Canada, Alaska and Hawaii. But the cost of shipping to those locations will be more than the quoted shipping price and bidders who live there should contact me prior to the end of the auction for a shipping quote. I will always combine shipping if you purchase multiple lots.
Please note that due to COVID my stated handling time for shipping is 5 days after receiving cleared payment from the buyer. However, I try to ship within 3 days of receiving cleared payment and do so most of the time. If for some reason you cannot wait 5 days before your item is shipped, please do not bid on my items.
Returns
: I will gladly refund your money if I make a mistake in describing something. But please make sure you really want the item before you bid. I do not give returns if a buyer simply changes his or her mind, deciding after the fact that they don't want an item.
